I still have been practicing, but I really am struggling here. I have had some points where I felt like giving up, but I keep practicing. It's all that I can really do.
Week 8- I have been looking through various songs such as Ocean Eyes- Billie Eilish https://ukutabs.com/b/billie-eilish/ocean-eyes/ The chords for Ocean Eyes are quite simple. C, D, Em, and G. I learned this one in under a day. Can't Help Falling in Love- Elvis Presley (Twenty One Pilots) Am, A7, B7, C, Dm7, Em, Em7, F, G, G7 I have a struggle with B7, Dm7, Em7, and G7. I can play Am, C, Em, F, and G very well because they are very easy to play and Back In December, when I first got my ukulele, those were the very first chords that I have started with. If they were named to me, I could play them. Even blind. House of Gold- Twenty One Pilots The chords for house of gold... Well, It took lots and lots of practice. Because, In general, playing and learning takes time. The chords I have learned are Am, A7, Bbm, C, Dm, F, and G. With the song, you have to play very fast. And for the very first Chord in the pre-chorus all the way through, you have to mute it with your index finger. You don't press down on the strings hard, just very softly on the first two frets while playing the C chord.

Now, here, I haven't done very much. As I have probably said before, I practice every day. I may or may not reach my goal, but I am working on songs. I write a lot, but sometimes I lack the motivation. I may look at some song structures and try coming up with something. I have used this song structure before.
In the Midst of these few weeks, I have been practicing many chords. One thing that I feel works very well is practicing the chord over and over again until I can play without looking. Which, for one, I have been getting better at. If I practice continuously and keep at a basic pace, then I can get to my goal of trying all the chords that there are for the ukulele. I do not have to memorize ALL of the chords completely, but I CAN try all of them and use what feels comfortable. One chord that I feel is the hardest is the E Chord. Which I will show down below: The Horrific E Chord... The E Chord. For me, out of all the chords I have tried out so far, the E chord has been the hardest to play.
If I am playing a G chord, then transitioning over to E chord is difficult and takes time. So For now, I am going to work on that. Ukulele Prog. Week One, I have really tried sorting out what I have been wanting to do In the long run. But, for now, at this moment in time, I haven't made any progress. On the second hand, I still practice w/ my ukulele every day. It is not that I am NOT doing anything. Practice is something. Due to Prior Experience before Genius Hour, I have been getting the hang of the Basic Chords on the Ukulele. Such as MAJOR chords Here is a small slideshow of MAJOR CHORDS. A B C D E F G |
